Sumly Notes Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the Sumly Chrome extension ("Service"), you agree to:

• Be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• Certify you are at least 13 years old (16 in EU)

2. Service Description

2.1 Core Features

• AI-powered webpage summarization
• Browser-based screenshot capture & annotation
• Cloud-synced note storage

2.2 Technical Requirements

• Chrome v88+ or compatible browsers
• Active internet connection
• Minimum 2GB RAM

3. User Obligations

3.1 Prohibited Conduct

You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer/decompile the extension
• Automate usage via bots/scripts
• Summarize illegal/restricted content
• Violate third-party copyrights via screenshots

3.2 Content Responsibility

You retain ownership of User Content but:

• Grant Sumly a non-exclusive license to process/store data
• Warrant content doesn't infringe third-party rights

4. Account Management

4.1 Registration

• Must provide valid contact information
• Responsible for account security

4.2 Termination

We may suspend accounts for:

• 90+ days of inactivity
• Violation of Section 3
• Court order requirement

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Rights

• Own all extension code, UI/UX designs, and algorithms
• Retain trademarks/logos ("Sumly" and logo design)

5.2 Your Rights

• Keep ownership of original notes/screenshots
• May export data anytime via Settings

6. Disclaimers

6.1 Service "AS IS"

No warranty for:

• Summary accuracy/completeness
• 100% data preservation
• Continuous feature availability

6.2 Third-Party Risks

• Not responsible for AI provider content filtering
• Cloud sync depends on external platform SLAs

7. Liability Limitations

7.1 Direct Damages Cap

Liability limited to greater of:

• Fees paid in past 6 months
• $50 USD

7.2 Excluded Claims

We're not liable for:

• Content loss due to user error
• Browser compatibility issues
• Economic losses from service downtime

8. Termination

8.1 By You

• Uninstall extension via Chrome settings
• Email deletion request to support@sumly.top

8.2 By Us

Reserve right to:

• Discontinue service with 60-day notice
• Block regions violating export controls

9. Modifications

9.1 Update notifications via:

• Extension update banner
• Registered email (major changes)

9.2 Continued use after 30 days = acceptance

10. Governing Law

10.1 Jurisdiction

• US Users: California law (excluding conflicts principles)
• EU Users: Brussels I Regulation

10.2 Dispute Resolution

• Mandatory 60-day negotiation period
• Arbitration via ICC Rules (claims <$100k)
